When Is Oktoberfest in Perth?
Don’t stress if you can’t get to Munich this spring because you’ll find one of the most authentic German folk festivals right here on your doorstep at Elmar’s famous Oktoberfest in the Swan Valley.
Elmar’s celebration of all things Bavarian is Perth’s original Oktoberfest and it’s still the biggest and the best.
Don a dirndl or get your legs into some lederhosen and head to the state’s largest licensed biergarten on 13, 20 and 21 October for a feast of traditional food, fun and original German beer. And with the added bonus of free public transport on Transperth’s buses, trains or ferries for every ticket holder, celebrating Octob’beer’ in the Swan Valley has never been easier!
Perth hadn’t even been ‘born’ when the very first Oktoberfest took place in Munich way back in 1810 but we’ve certainly made up for lost time by creating our own authentic Bavarian beer festival which has become one of the hottest tickets on the WA entertainment calendar. You wouldn’t want to miss this year’s fun, so grab your tickets through www.elmars.com.au and say ‘prost’ to a good time.
From our award-winning craft beers (including our special Märzen which we’ve been carefully conditioning over several months to be in perfect form for release at the Oktoberfest), delicious traditional German foods, live bands and all-day entertainment including tug-o-war, stein-holding and bratwurst-eating competitions, this is an event like no other.
And with a range of ticket options, you can choose how you experience Oktoberfest.
From a VIP ticket which includes heaps of benefits and freebies including your own private bar and all-you-can eat banquet to a premium ticket which gets you a whole lot of food, fun and a piece of attire to get you into the Oktoberfest spirit, there’s a ticketing option to suit everyone. What’s more, every ticket gets a free pretzel on arrival and remember, all ticketholders for the 13th and 20th October events can travel for free on any Transperth bus, train or ferry three hours before and after the event.
Oktoberfest is also for the under 18s and our family day on Sunday 21st October promises awesome entertainment for all ages including live music and fun activities. Entry is free and you can register your interest here or follow us on Facebook.
There’s a German word which doesn’t have a direct English translation, but which encompasses the heady combination of coziness, cheerfulness, friendliness and camaraderie that you find at Oktoberfest – and we guarantee that if you come to Elmar’s in the Valley this October, you’ll feel the ‘gemütlichkeit’!
